James helped me prepare for my Army Officer Selection Board briefing. I really noticed an improvement in my overall fitness, seeing positive results in every session. James was not only motivational during sessions, but also on text, supporting me through the fitness aspect. He also helped me build a positive mental approach to the day. His careful planning to sessions based on my lifestyle and time availability also guaranteed sessions were effective, and the homework set allowed me to keep working on this even at home.

I started working regularly with James in October 2019 and since then have managed to make the most significant and evident progress I’ve ever made in 13 years of going to the gym. James Snowdon has been my personal trainer for over 2 years. In the last year he has helped me to recover from hip replacement surgery and we have worked every week on improving flexibility and strength in the hip as well as working on all muscle groups to improve co-ordination, strength and balance. His exercises are always varied, usually using weights and since lockdown, simple items to hand, always with the emphasis on working reciprocating muscle groups to improve stability of movement in everyday life. He has excellent self help advice for easing muscle pain in specific areas and a session will often start with work on troublesome or stiff muscles. Most of all he is a patient and encouraging teacher.

James Snowdon has been my personal trainer since early 2017 involved in the acute problems of old age - I was born in 1936. My daily problems include foot issues, chronic arthritis, vertigo, muscle and tendon problems, balance issues and shuffling about as distinct from walking properly. James has helped me gain strength and stamina in my legs by designing personalised plans on my exercise bike. He also instructs me in other exercises which have helped me to carry on walking, as well as giving me a more robust sense of balance. One unexpected result he has achieved is that I am now able to pick up objects by bending slowly on my haunches. I strongly recommend James as an outstanding trainer particularly empathetic to the problems of old age.
Training with James has been one of the best decisions I have made both for my psychical and mental health! His sessions are tailored so well that at the end you feel stronger, healthier and happier. I enjoyed working with James as he makes working out fun and educational at the same time,so you are gaining skills that can be put into practice when training on your own. James was always happy to help even out of our sessions with any questions, from nutrition to workouts even just to acknowledge the hard work and progress that I had made, it was extremely encouraging. James has a great energy he is extremely professional and makes you feel comfortable straight away.
Training with James is always a pleasure. He is so cheerful and encouraging. I always come away feeling energised. He knows how to push you and make you go that little bit harder, but always with an encouraging smile and comment. No two workouts are ever the same, so there is no chance of ever getting bored. Every time I see him, he thinks up a different sequence of exercises. I look forward to our regular sessions and what delights he might have in store for me that day! James is a 5 star trainer. Top notch. Why? He doesn’t do the bare minimum - he over invests and ensures your training plan is tailored to you. Continually learning new techniques that will push you to achieve your goals.
